Big Brother returnsWhen Big Brother announced it was finishing up last summer you sensed that they had cottoned on to the Brett Favre vibe. This means that today’s inevitable “comeback” is one of the more predictable pieces of news you’ll hear this spring.

Channel Five has confirmed that they will be launching a new series of Celebrity Big Brother as well as the original format this summer.

The program ran for a full 11 series on Channel 4 before Ultimate Big Brother marked the end of what was a golden period for reality television programs. Well that is reality shows where the acts didn’t have to perform. Nowadays if your program doesn’t involve singin’ (or dancin’) then you ain’t winnin’.

Celebrity Big Brother will be looking to buck this trend when it reaches our screens in August. The format will be looking for absolute victory in their quest for world domination and they’re crawling to the door of one man to ensure by the end of it they’re #winning.

If you haven’t already have it, we’re of course talking about the victor in all-out PR warfare, Charlie Sheen.

Richard Desmond, owner of Channel Five and the Daily Star newspaper, reported in his paper on Sunday that “a big money offer” had been made to the former Two and a Half Men star. In addition, “top of the wanted list” is Fulham chairman Mohamed Al-Fayed and the list is likely to lengthen as we approach August.

Now that Five has announced the series, we’re calling out the bookies to get those odds up!

Most people will now be wondering should Sheen take a place in the house, what would his luxury item be? Tiger’s Blood? Tinky Winky’s purse? Or even some of those elusive seven-gram rocks.
