GoldenPalace.com buys Bieber’s locks

Am I that far out of touch with what’s going on in the world today that I have the audacity to think that Justin Bieber is NOT a bigger star than Elvis Presley was? I just might be. And you feel the same, you might be too.

Bieber is huge. He’s big enough that even though he didn’t win the Grammy for best new artist, a lock of his hair still sells for $40,668.00 US. That’s more than most American’s salaries. And that’s more than Elvis Presley’s hair went for, much more, the King’s locks only went for $15K.

Recently, GoldenPalace.com made a winning bid to an Ellen DeGeneres auction for a lock of Bieber’s hair, the bid was for $40,668.00, with the proceeds to be donated to support The Gentle Barn Foundation.

GoldenPalace.com has made crazy purchases in that past, like in 2004 when they purchased a one-of-kind Cabbage Patch Kid made in DeGeneres’ likeness. That’s an unsettling visual image. I wonder if that doll could sing and dance.

It’s great that GoldenPalace.com bought the lock of hair and made such a generous donation to charity. They’ve purchased other items in the past including the Beckham Ball, Pope Benedict XVI’s used VW Golf, and TV star William Shatner’s kidney stone. GoldenPalace.com has used their items and marketing reach to raise awareness and over $1,000,000 for various charities worldwide.

Currently, GoldenPalace.com no longer accepts players from the United States, but the casino still caters to players internationally. This latest purchase of Bieber’s hair is a high profile move that is sure to gain the casino notoriety… But I have to keep it real when I say, It’s a shame for Golden Palace that 99% of Justin Bieber fans aren’t old enough to gamble.
