I can’t hate on Miguel Cabrera, he’s one of my favourite baseball players and one of the best all around hitters in the game of baseball. Arguably, Cabrera is second only to Pujols as far as slugging first basemen, and Cabrera is always flirting with the triple crown.

But just like many other baseball players and gaming industry professionals, it seems Cabrera likes to get a little loose and do some drinking in the offseason, apparently, he carried on a little too far Wednesday night.

Cabrera hadn’t yet reported to Spring Training and my guess was he was out celebrating the end of Valentine’s Day, when he was pulled over by the police for driving under the influence. According to police report in the Detroit Free Press, after being pulled over Cabrera told officers,

“Do you know who I am? You don’t know anything about my problems.”

As the report indicates, Cabrera then picked up a bottle of James Buchanan’s Scotch whiskey and started drinking.
Let’s hope Cabrera doesn’t have bigger problems than the $1350 bond he had to pay to get out of the joint. Surely his $20 M salary isn’t the problem, or maybe it is true, mo money mo problems? Who knows, all anyone can really say is that he didn’t seem to have that much bothering him when he took the mugshot!

Cabrera might be a little late for the Detroit Tigers Spring Training this year.
