wsope-goes-across-channelThose British players who were hoping to win a WSOPE bracelet on home soil may have had their last chance for some time last year, local James Bord wrapping up the prize for his home town crowd. This year the likes of Lucien Cohen and Bertrand Grospelier will be to go for this accolade on home soil.

After a press conference earlier today, it’s been announced that the World Series of Poker Europe will be landing in the south of France, Cannes to be exact, for the next three years.

Taking place from October 7-21, 2011, the agreement was announced between French company Groupe Lucien Barriere and Caesars Interactive Entertainment and represents quite the coup for the French casino sector.

“This alliance reinforces our strategy of powerful synergies between the offline and online, and it is an honor to partner with the tournament poker world’s most prestigious,” said Dominique Desseigne CEO of Groupe Lucien Barrière.

In all seven bracelets will be up for grabs at the Casino Barriere de Cannes Croisette over the two weeks that the tournament is on and they will be contested over the following events:

• No-limit hold’em six-max € 1 500
• NLHE € 1 000
• PLO 6-Max € 5 000
• € 3,000 NLHE Shootout
• PLO 6-Max € 1 500
• Main Event Main Event € 10 400

The last event to be held by the Croisette was the successful Partouche Poker Tour, which they will hope is a precursor to this being just as successful.
