isildur1-loses-first-showdownTwo weeks ago PokerStars announced that they’d signed up the enigma of the online poker world. Everyone wants to know who he is, but, as if a wanted international fugitive, the man known simply as Isildur1 still remains anonymous. As one of the world’s most renowned online poker players and one that means a lot to the world of online poker his new sponsors gave him his own asylum in which to work.

Superstar Showdown is what it’s called, a place that gives Isildur1 the space with which to demonstrate the one-of-a-kind brand of reckless abandon and poker playing genius for which he’s known.

As the crowds gathered on the virtual rail, with anyone from Kevin “ImaLucSac” MacPhee and Chad “lilholdem954″ Batista to those who were playing poker and stumbled upon the name they’d heard so much about in the past.

The winner of the inaugural match-up wasn’t our man though.

Youth was the order of the day, as high-stakes no-limit hold’em specialist Isaac “philivey2694″ Haxton, took on Isildur1 and beat him after a mammoth 2,500 hands of poker. A detailed run down of how the action went is available here, but be assured that this won’t keep Isildur1 down for long, and if he ever did run out of money…he could just reveal his identity to the world in a tabloid or tablog exclusive.
