It’s Black Friday, so go ahead and get your shop on. It’s Thanksgiving weekend, there’s a ton of sports, it’s festive, so go ahead and get your gambling, drinking and carrying on…On.

But first, here’s a little something to get that weekend party started off more than right and get you trollied. Think of a holiday drink that hits the spot just right…Are you thinking apple cider? I was. Women love it, and you can drink it all night, but here’s some creative ways to get your drink on cider styles.

How about an Apple Cider Martini? You like that don’t you Mr. Bond…

For your ingredients, First you’ll need 1.5 oz.-Cinnamon Clove Infused Vodka, then .25 oz.-Apple Cider
Then grab some Ice. Then you’ll need 1.5 tsp.-Apple Brandy and Cut up an Apple Slice.

Put it all together: Chill martini glass. Rinse martini glass with apple brandy and dump it out. Combine vodka, apple cider and ice in a martini shaker. Strain liquid mixture into a martini glass. Garnish with an apple slice. And sip on that and other just like it all night.

How about, one of my personal favorites…“The Cider and Tequila Hot Toddy”

You’ll need:
4 cups apple cider
1 cup cranberry juice cocktail
1/2 cup tequila
1/4 cup triple sec or 1/4 cup other orange-flavored liqueur
lime slice, for garnish.

Now this makes for 6 servings, so, you might want to double the recipe…Better triple it just to be on the safe side… If actually have company, you might want to multiply it even further.

Follow these directions:

1. In a saucepan heat cider and cranberry juice cocktail just until hot (do not let boil) and remove from heat.
For those guys that don’t know, a saucepan is something used to heat things with, its round, has a handle, if you’ve never handled one of these, first of all wow, and second of all, better get someone who knows what they’re doing. Don’t spoil the batch!

2. Stir in tequila and liqueur. Now, until I had this drink, I never new how much flavor that liqueur had, I always thought liqueur was french for “You’re a pussy.”

3. Serve these bad boys in mugs garnished with lime slices.

4. To spice up a little: add cinnamon sticks, a little cloves, allspice and nutmeg

There you go, now you have a nice drink when the weather outside is frightful, those Hot Toddy’s are so delightful. Enjoy these recipes at home by yourself or with friends before taking it out on the town. Just remember, save some for the after party in case your not coming home alone…That’s how vets carry on.
