The Grosvenor UK Poker Tour is coming to a close for another year, with the £2500 buy-in Main Event scheduled to get underway at the Grosvenor Victoria Casino in London this Thursday (25th). The competition to become GUKPT Player of the Year is currently fronted by David Johnson, who won the Blackpool event last weekend, but there’s another big name you might want to keep an eye on.
When the GUKPT Main Event does get underway, Bodog Network’s Patrik Selin, the only CEO of a major poker network to routinely plunk his butt (and his money) down at live tournaments, will be present and accounted for. As a warm-up, Patrik took part in the GUKPT £500 buy-in NL Hold’em Freezeout this weekend, ultimately placing 6th, earning £1,790 for his troubles. So how will Patrik fare when the big show starts on Thursday? Stay tuned for updates, or, if you happen to be in the London area, you could always stop by the Vic and try to knock the big Swede off his pedestal by yourself.
