Becky’s Bender: Saturday night party at iGB Espana

madrid_clubbingBuenos días from warm and sunny Madrid. I’m here at iGB Espana and the nightlife in this city is pretty wild…thank god this conference kicks off later in the day than usual!!

As mentioned in last week’s Becky’s Bender, there are official iGB Espana parties taking place each night of the conference and now I have the official Saturday night party information to share with everyone. For anyone who wants some recommendations for top Madrid restaurants and clubs from a local, I’ve got those for you too, so…keep reading!

The official iGB Networking party on Saturday night will be taking place at Sol y Sombra, a centrally located gleaming, shimmering, funky, purpley-white venue which attracts a very fashionable and buzzy crowd. As the proud sponsors of this posh night out, London Affiliate Conference has organized a free bar from 22:00-24:00 which will be exclusively available to all iGB delegates. This bar may shut down early for Madrid standards (3am), but never fear, I’m sure we’ll find a place to continue the party…

…and now for some authentic Madrid nightlife recommendations straight from a Madrileño!

Clubs:

Gabana (Velazquez 6)
This place is known for “famous people from Madrid” spotting and typically attracts a crowd that is 30+. Jackpot!

Balcon de Rosales (Paseo Pintor Rosales)
This club features three rooms, the one dance floor which overlooks Madrid’s largest park, a relaxation room, and a restaurant.

Fortuny (Fortuny 34)
Fortuny is located in a beautiful 19th century palace, what else could you ever want in a club?

Restaurants:

Oter (Claudio Coello 71)
Oter specializes in dishes from the north of Spain and features a fine selection of cigars.

O Caldiño (Lagasca 74)
At this restaurant you will find excellent seafood and meat straight from one of the best markets of Galincia. There are two rooms at O Caldino, one smoking and one non, so take your pick and enjoy.

Buenos noches and adiós!
