Mighty Macau lacks sex appeal of Shanghai
And all this time, we thought the phrase was “dirty sexy money”… So why is Macau, the city whose charter might as well be a framed photo of Stanley Ho with “license to print yuan” stamped over top, not ruling the roost as the ‘sexiest’ cities in China? In fact, all of Macau’s moolah could barely buy it a spot in the top 10, garnering a mere 1.6% of voters from Hong Kong-based Phoenix television. It’s our guess that Macau got an unsexy rep because all its math-poor residents are always taking off their socks at inopportune moments to use their toes to count the zeroes on their financial ledgers.
