Sumo wrestling’s betting scandal has a high-profile victim as it was announced that the chief of Sumo-Japan has resigned. The former Yokozuna, Musashigawa, resigned at a board meeting yesterday only a week after returning to the post following surgery for stomach cancer in July. The sport has taken quite the battering over the last few months following the decision by Sumos to bet illegally on baseball, completely missing out on the World Cup for which they wouldn’t have been continually slapped on the wrists for.
