Since its founding in 2006 by Don Cheadle, Annie Duke and Norman Epstein, the Ante Up For Africa poker event has raised over $3M for organizations that strive to make a tangible impact on the ground in Africa, through humanitarian assistance and policy work toward lasting solutions to Africa’s worst conflicts. This year’s event is headed down to the wire, with live updates available here. To learn more about the organization’s aims, click here.

UPDATE: Phil Gordon has emerged as champion (on his birthday, no less) and has donated 100% of his $130K winnings to the Ante Up For Africa cause. Shannon Elizabeth took second place.
