Aqueduct goes for fourth time lucky
New York State’s elongated fight to secure a long-term future for the fledging Aqueduct Racetrack enters a new chapter this week. For the fourth time in nearly a decade, there’s an offer on the table to operate 4,500 electronic slot machines on the site. There are three remaining bidders, including the aforementioned Genting New York, for the $1m contract, and each will look to be the thoroughbred in the lead when it comes to August’s photo finish.
