The Advertising Standards Authority has banned an email campaign by William Hill Casino for marketing a misleading “amazing bonus offer for every new player.” The offer was so “amazing” that customers had to spend £1,320 and make at least 50 bets in one month to be eligible to start withdrawing any winnings. Not exactly the best betting promotion I’ve ever seen. It’s good that they’ve picked up on this scam as William Hill likes to market itself as being the biggest and most reliable bookmaker in the UK but, that said, what sort of punishment is banning the email campaign. The words horse, stable and bolted spring to mind. Read more.
