After a big trip to Europe starting with the Monte Carlo Grand Prix, then moving to the big CalvinAyre.com launch party in Prague and finishing with a holiday in Romania and a week of meetings and dinners in London, it sure is nice to be back at my place here in Antigua to relax and watch the World Cup. I was a bit under the weather at the end of my trip to London, so I was stuck in a hotel for a few days, but on the plus side, it allowed me to catch all the first round World Cup matches and thus I had a chance to observe every team in action. I was going to put a small play on England just to make things exciting, but after watching Messi in action I changed my mind and now have $5,000 on Argentina to win it all. Argentina has since surged to the front of everyone’s ‘team to beat’ list so it’s good that I got my play in a while back. There is however a lot of football left to play in this tournament so I am definitely not counting my money yet. That said, I’ll have lots of ‘Rum Money’ for the summer if Argentina does pull this off, and Maradona is reported to be extremely confident in his team.

I am kicking back here in Antigua, wake boarding, drinking rum punches and watching World Cup games, but I also want to make a shout-out in this post to Honorable Harold E. Lovell, Minister of Finance in Antigua. He had a very interesting round table between members of government and industry here in Antigua last Friday morning and I was invited to represent the gaming industry (I think they are fans of my tablog). Anyway… I love to see governments asking for the opinions of industry and was happy to be there and give them my feedback.
On that note I have to get back to my handicapping. I want to get a few side bets in on a few of the games tomorrow.
