World Series of Wasted: poker players do a lot of drugs

A university in Florida recently conducted a study of 198 professional, semi-pro, amateur and recreational poker players and discovered there were precious few substances said players wouldn’t smoke, snort, swallow, inject or insert up their backsides if they felt it would ‘enhance’ their level of play. Cocaine, marijuana, amphetamines, Valium and other prescription medications, caffeine, energy drinks, guarana… It’s all good, according to the players. Interestingly, the study chose not to question players as to their possible use of anabolic steroids, but, given the sorry state of most poker players’ physiques, the researchers probably figured they already knew the answer to that one.
