Fulham’s Mohammad Al Fayed sells Harrods for £1.5B

AlFayedAs if Bodog-sponsored Fulham FC wasn’t already on an unprecedented upward trajectory, the club’s owner, Mohammed Al Fayed, has just sold his interest in the fabled Harrods department store to the investment arm of the Qatari royal family for £1.5B. With that much ready cash in his pocket, Fayed might well decide to go on a major shopping spree in the football’s off-season, hoping to build on Fulham’s Cinderella-like run this season (their first under the Bodog banner, not that we’re taking credit or anything).     What an incredible business Harrods is…I have a funny story from when I got drunk inside it at one of the seafood restaurants once a few years back….but will save that one for another day.
