Republicans to use Abramoff scandal against pro-gambling lobby

Politics is all about dirty tricks, and plenty of mud stuck to the Republicans during the Jack Abramoff scandal. But now the Grand Old Party are trying to throw some back by using the scandal against Democrats in the fight over legalizing online gambling. According to a Republican memo “Team Abramoff” – including clients such as the Interactive Gaming Council of Vancouver, which is currently helping pro-gambling efforts in the US – pocketed nearly $5m between 2001 and 2004, and though Abramoff is serving time, many of his former associates are continuing his evil designs to legalize internet gambling. ‘Hang’em all, they’re all guilty by association,’ the memo falls just short of pontificating.
