The infamous front room five
Martin Kelner’s Screen Break is a column worth reading on any given Monday, but this week we have just cause to plug it as it focuses on Betfair’s risible TV adverts. While the ads get the proposition across – albeit in a very laddish way – about Betfair being the closest thing to striking a bet with a friend, Kelner’s comment that if he had mates like ‘The Front Room Five’ then “I might start wondering whether it might not have been a better plan to stay at home and sort out my sock drawer,” strikes a rather amusing chord.
