Film association asks feds to kill movie futures exchange

AvatarThe Motion Picture Association of America has asked the Commodity Futures Trading Commission to scuttle plans by both Cantor Fitzgerald and Veriana Networks to open exchanges to trade (i.e. bet) on movie box office performance. If the MPAA’s request is denied, here’s a helpful tip based on recent box office numbers: bet the farm on ANYTHING released in 3D, even that “let’s all go to the lobby” promo. Read more.
