Poll shows many Americans oppose online betting

Our industry likely won’t be pleased by a new poll that claims a majority of Americans don’t want to see online gambling legalized anytime soon. That said, just as we saw with younger Catholics, there may be a generational tipping point in these numbers. There are two people quoted in the article, with the 30-something strongly in favor of online gambling, and the 80-something firmly agin’ it. Octogenarian Sam Baker provides further insight into his ‘no’ stance by claiming he likes “to see my money come and go right in front of me.” We suspect technophobe Sam also doesn’t do a lot of online banking, and has yet to figure out why his old 78 RPM records won’t work on the iPod his granddaughter gave him last Christmas.
