We all know the Irish love a good scrap. They’ve had problems with the English, problems with the French and now they’ve got problems with their own – again. Horse Racing Ireland is demanding handouts from the bookmakers, the betting firms are threatening to feck off abroad and the government is trying to work out how to cream off the bookies without them doing one to Gibraltar.
