The Pentagon has reversed a 2007 directive that blocked US military computers from accessing social-networking sites like Facebook, YouTube and Twitter. Certain restrictions will apply in order to maintain operational security, and there are also a few non-military exclusions, such as accessing gambling, pornography or hate sites.
Personally, we think it’s a bit outrageous that the policy memo specifically lumps gambling in with motherfucking hate sites, but whatever… Anyway, can you imagine if this was available in earlier conflicts?
