Pentagon: Twitter good, gambling & porn bad

ValkyrieTweetThe Pentagon has reversed a 2007 directive that blocked US military computers from accessing social-networking sites like Facebook, YouTube and Twitter. Certain restrictions will apply in order to maintain operational security, and there are also a few non-military exclusions, such as accessing gambling, pornography or hate sites.

Personally, we think it’s a bit outrageous that the policy memo specifically lumps gambling in with motherfucking hate sites, but whatever… Anyway, can you imagine if this was available in earlier conflicts? The movie Valkyrie would have been a lot shorter if Von Stauffenberg had interrupted his plan to tweet “o man hitler is totally going 2 die lol” Read more.
