The time has finally come for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, BC! Tonight is the opening ceremony in Vancouver, and even though very few specific details have been provided, I hear Canadian performers Bryan Adams and Sarah Mclachlan will be making an appearance in addition to some Canadian Aboriginal drummers and singers. If you’d like to catch the highly anticipated and elaborate ceremony, it will be going live at 6pm PST/2am GMT around the globe and will feature the lighting of the Olympic cauldron among other events and exhibits.
Now it’s time for the fun stuff. After the opening ceremony, what actually happens in Vancouver during the Olympics besides the games themselves? Where to even start…this city is currently bumping with locals and visitors from all around the world, streets have been cleaned, new sidewalks and art have been added, transit fares have increased, the buzz around town is incredible and the nightclubs are jammed. Naturally a good celebrating crowd brings on a good party, so here are my recommendations on where you should go for some good, old-fashioned, and very international post Olympic game fun.
Lets start with the Canvas Lounge. The Jet Set Crew, a global network that hosts spectacular events and international travel, has arranged 18 nights in a row of partying during the Olympics in Vancouver. Each night you can enjoy sponsored victory parties at Canvas Lounge which will bring together Olympic athletes, the best DJs, celebs, VIPs, hot girls, and YOU! Entry is $30 a pop, but you can invest in a season pass for full VIP access to all 18 parties for $199 or a Corporate season pass for $299.
If Canvas Lounge is not your thing, fear not, you’ve got about 1000 other choices. There are tons of great DJs in town and every club is going to be hopping…check out a nice sampling of what’s in store:
