No ‘nasties’ (i.e. gambling) in UK TV product placement

ProductPlacementThe UK plan to allow product placement on TV programs has been modified to exclude the ‘nasties’, i.e. junk food, alcohol, tobacco and (seriously) baby food. Also banned was – you guessed it – gambling. Odd that car companies will somehow be permitted to market their products, despite said products causing over 3000 UK fatalities per year. And presumably footie-related products will be allowed, despite the thousands of UK residents who suffer ‘nasty’ injuries in amateur leagues, trying to emulate their heroes in, say, Fulham FC.
