The UK plan to allow product placement on TV programs has been modified to exclude the ‘nasties’, i.e. junk food, alcohol, tobacco and (seriously) baby food. Also banned was – you guessed it – gambling. Odd that car companies will somehow be permitted to market their products, despite said products causing over 3000 UK fatalities per year. And presumably footie-related products will be allowed, despite the thousands of UK residents who suffer ‘nasty’ injuries in amateur leagues, trying to emulate their heroes in, say, Fulham FC.
