Please help Haiti

Please help Haiti

It is a disaster in Haiti. I know they have had a tough go from Mother Nature recently, hurricanes and now this earth quake, but I can not help but be disgusted with the ruling elite that has driven this country down like this while, no doubt, filling their own pockets. That all said the innocents as always are paying a horrendous price for this elite thievery and I think the global online gaming community has a duty to do something.

I have asked my Foundation to send and £10,000 to UK based Oxfam to help with Hatian relief efforts.

But that’s not all…I also want to challenge the rest of this industry to also contribute to Oxfam to help out in Haiti…and my private foundation will match any proven payment to Oxfam by an online gaming person up to $1,000,000.

Lets go guys….everyone making money has a duty to help.

For more information please visit the Calvin Ayre Foundation.

[UPDATE: We continue to receive an overwhelming response to this challenge. Please keep sending in those donations. After devastation like this, every dollar truly counts for the people relying on these relief funds. Plus, we really want to get Calvin Ayre to cut a million dollar check for these people. Anyone in the online gaming industry please send your receipts of donations made to Oxfam for Haitian Relief to Haiti@calvinayrefoundation.com to ensure your donation is matched. Thank you for your continued generosity. - Editor]

Wow, that's commendable! Note that Oxfam is here in the US too: www.oxfamamerica.org
They are rated 4 star on the Charity Navigator. We give to them every Christmas.

Hats off to Calvin, what a superb thing to do. Not only donating in such a large way, however, encouraging others in the industry to do so too!
  • Here is an email address...scan any reciepts to Oxfam or any other reputable Haitian relief organization and we will match it with funds from my personal foundation:

i'm from mexico and we had a terrible earth quake 24 years ago and i know what it feels, and believe me is not something you wish on anyone, we must help.
  • Donated $100 to Unicef Canada last night and would be happy to show donation receipt. This is a fabulous move on Bodog's part, major kudos!
  • We would consider matching confirmed funds to qualified organizations other than Oxfam. We chose Oxfam because it is a well known reputable organization and I like focusing as much money as I can though one organization as this maximizes impact on the ground.
