In 1994 Calvin Ayre sold everything he owned and launched Bodog.com. During an unprecedented run of marketing/PR stunts, Calvin Ayre had the opportunity to be around more D-list celebrities than Dr. Drew – not to mention stuffing more 3rd world mouths than Live Aid. In 2006, Calvin sold Bodog.com, leaving the US market at the same time as all the other UK-based public companies. Under a model completely unique in the online gaming sector, Calvin Ayre participates in a brand licensing organization (BodogBrand.com), which licenses the brand in a franchise-like model to three distinct gaming operators (Bodog.com, Bodog.co.uk, and Bodog88.com), each of whom holds its own gaming license and whose players come from many countries around the world. As is the case with most megalomaniacs, never satisfied with plain-old world domination, Calvin is now a resident/ruler of London, launched his new eGaming industry tabloid blog – a “Tablog” – at CalvinAyre.com in the autumn of 2009. The CalvinAyre.com tagline is “Gamblin’ Drinkin’ and Carryin’ On”? The marketing genius that came up with that needs a raise. Has anyone seen this guy’s parties? His tablog’s tagline should be “Midgets, Models and Mayhem”. Calvin’s life is like shooting a porno at the circus. The morning after at his place is probably nothing but naked girls with smudged clown make-up, lying passed out around empty bottles of gin and tufts of tiger fur. However, to his credit, Calvin has made the site not-for-profit with all proceeds going to fund the Calvin Ayre Foundation’s charity initiatives.

Love him or hate him…while chances are he’s got more money than you, remember he’s still the kind of guy that gets toasted with a bunch of hot girls and has to pull out the goddamn nunchucks.
