It appeared like BAC attendees had quite rough a couple of days because people were taking it easy (at least until midnight) at the official BAC party for Saturday night. Once the room filled up the place was bumping! The venue was 5Kert, a new, trendy club cafe in the heart of Budapest. See all the Budapest Affiliate 2010 Parties in the Party SINdex.

You took a journey through time after you checked your coat (and the Jager bomb started to settle)… What could be more fun than people roller skating (and I’m not talking inline) to Deniece Williams’ Let’s Hear It For The Boy and Rick James’ Superfreak. Not sure I want to know what the insurance was on a party like this one as I did witness a poor iGaming gent fall directly on the back of his head on the cement floor. After a couple shakes of the head and a few eye squints, he assured me he was OK and took right off again skating. As of course the party continued.

Affiliate Edge did a great job of ensuring everyone was right pissed from the open bar ending at 23:30, at which time the club opened up to the public. Some chose to stay at the club, others chose to crash the Marriott hotel lobby bar – which is where I ended up at… Somehow 5am rolled around and the poor Marriott staff didn’t realize – just because you shut the music off and turn the lights up bright doesn’t mean the Industry will stop partying, even if it is 5am… Just means we’ll get a little louder and invade the (slightly darker) interior lobby, taking over the baby grand piano.

Have to give a shout out to iGaming Business for getting everyone to Budapest and Affiliate Edge for getting everyone just hammered on a fantastic Friday evening.

Ok BAC attendees, by now I’m pretty sure you’ve got the official BAC party schedule ingrained into your heads between all the iGaming Business emails, Facebook updates, Becky’s Benders, and BAC brochures, but just in case you’re too hung over from last night to locate these information sources, you can have a look at my list for all the official BAC venues, times, sponsors, and RSVP requirements.

The biggest and best clubs with VIP rooms and lots of girls with fake boobs (so I hear).

Next to the Four Seasons, smaller than Studio and White Angel and no VIP rooms, but pretty much the same atmosphere.

This year I was unable to attend the Budapest Affiliate Conference in its entirely because Alex Pratt choose the ONE WEEKEND OF THE YEAR when I was unavailable due to a wedding in the US that I just could not miss. Being the international socialite that I am, I could not resist popping in for a night to spend time with my closer friends in the industry that I don’t see very often, such as Aleksi of Pokerisivut and Shenaz of Victory Poker.

I spent the day gallivanting around the conference hotel lobby and terrace lunching and catching up with industry favorites, took a jog along the Danube, and arranged a dinner for 20 at Tom George, a popular Italian restaurant in town. Of course I did. The 20 person dinner ballooned into 30 and we took over the restaurant’s terrace and drank bottle after bottle of red wine, ate pizzas, antipastos, and all things Italian while having the best time for five hours straight. Notables around the tables included team Victory Poker, the blinged-out Poker.org boys, newly wed Michael Caselli, team SportingBet, Jasper and Aleksi from Pokerisivit, Margaret from PKR, Jodie from Lyceum, and the list goes on.

Following dinner, Jasper kindly booked the VIP section of the happenin’ Thursday night spot in Budapest, Dokk Cafe, a local club situated on the second floor of a mall of all places. Throughout the night pretty much all the affiliates known for their valuable poker traffic and extraordinary boozing skills made an appearance and this, of course, turned into a rather messy situation. There may have been some ladies that needed to be escorted home due to excessive intoxication, there may have been some dancing, some drink spillage, a little making out, even food poisoning (!) and the best part about it all is that none of the misbehavior was documented on video…you literally had to be there to see it.

And…. They’re off! The iGaming industry has started their run on a 3-day bender that began tonight at Creol Bar. The opening night party for the Budapest Affiliate Conference was sponsored by the London Affiliate Conference. iGaming Business sure does know how to treat the industry – free drinks until midnight!!!!

The evening started out somewhat mellow, a resident magyar DJ kicked off the evening with some old skool hip hop, then ventured to some solid house beats. This was right about the time when the party’s attendees became enamored with the 12 ft. feather lamp hanging from the ceiling at the main entrance — it seemed almost everyone had to stand on a chair to touch it.

Although still bustling inside, what we couldn’t figure out is why half the party was outside on the street because you can smoke inside the restaurants and bars in Budapest (and the smell of my shirt right now can attest to that). Perhaps what drew these folks out into the quite balmy fall evening is that you can drink open alcohol on the street here, something you can’t do in my country.

There was poker footage playing on the wall – very fitting. And an odd presence of females at this party, and I’m not talking promo models, I’m talking working-in-the-industry hotties!

All said and done, it was a fantastic evening – and this is just the beginning. If you were at the party (then chances are you had a good time) and you’re hung over tomorrow, fret not, because Adnan from ComeOn apparently has “a huge box” of Treo painkillers that he’ll be giving out tomorrow on the conference floor. “One issue that occurs to almost every affiliate in gaming is profit leakage, sending a visitor to an operator’s brand where they are already signed up. Pzyche estimate that over 1/3rd of clicks out from an affiliate site will deliver no earning opportunity to them – That’s Profit Leakage folks!” claims search dude Jason Duke.

Pzyche has been developed by Duke and gaming legal council James Barnes, two dudes previously responsible to taking PartyPoker.com to number one positions worldwide in Google. These two are experts in online marketing and the issues that are out there, so they have come up with some answers to these real world problems.

My female spies tell me that of all the clubs they’ve been to around the world, and let’s face it, they do fuck all else but go clubbing all year long, this one took the biscuit. It was so good that not only did the BAC crowd schlep over the bridge from Pest to Buda just to chill out in this gaff, but they stayed there on both Friday AND Saturday night after their BAC sponsored parties had finished. In fact, some people even turned down free booze at the sponsored parties to spend their own dosh at Bed Beach, where it was all happening.

Firstly, Bed Beach was crawling with women… nice women. Local girls, iGaming sorts, dancers, models, barmaids. It was like Bunny Time at the Playboy Mansion. We don’t know how or why, but the place was dripping with more honey than a beehive convention.

My female envoys tell me the choices for VIP tables were spot on too. For the right price (iGaming mugs will cough up for anything these days) you could choose the ultimate VIP area overlooking the entire club, the VIP area near the dancing girls, the VIP tables surrounding the dance floor, or the VIP table in the middle of the club’s pool. The music wasn’t too shabby neither if you weren’t drinking you were dancing. With fit birds. On tables.

Rebecca didn’t stick around at this one for too long as it was like Tiger Woods’ house when the wife’s away – hot and crowded. Becs confessed to getting battered on shots of Unicom before nicking off to Bed Beach to meet up with a few minted affiliates to dance on the VIP tables with the rest of the iGaming delinquents. Details are a bit sketchy but it seems C-planet threw a half-decent bash. Hot and crowded generally means lots of people, which generally amounts to all sorts going on. We can only assume that those who can remember it had a good knees-up.

Luxury. Entertainment. Birds. It doesn’t matter if there are 2 people at one of these nights or 20,000… an invite to a Bodog party is the hottest ticket in town. This one put the D in De Luxe; we’re talking fine cigars, authentic Hungarian booze to sample and take away, gorgeous women to sample and take away – I mean take vintage pictures with. Then there was the open bar, attentive finger food and tasty waitresses (well, you know what I mean) and hand massages – say no more…

And then there were the Bodog girls? The place was crawling with them. Wall-to-wall totty that outnumbered the fellas by at least 3-1. There were certainly worse places to be.

My spies were well chuffed at sitting next to the Godfather of Poker at his Klub in Budapest? The Doyle Brunson VIP party was an intimate and exclusive pre-party affair with guests playing some proper cards while enjoying a few drinks, decent grub and the company of the big man himself. Low key by the sounds of it but there’s no substitute for class.

The opening party at an iGaming conference always goes down like a trainee nurse on freshers’ week. Everyone is up for it despite the next day’s early morning conference. My spies tell me everyone got hammered and stayed out until 3am. Good work.

The Expekt opening party gets the nod as the best official BAC-sponsored bash of the whole conference. Big name poker pro Scotty Nguyen was suitably hammered, jumping around on stage like Jedward on speed and stuffing cake in people’s faces as they walked by. Rebecca tells me everyone got a taste of Scotty that night – you can own conclusions about what that means…

The Expekt crew also sorted a VIP area for their affiliates and iGaming mates which was a nice touch. Everyone likes a sealed off area, where they can look down on the minions while downing free booze and chatting up fit women. Can’t beat exclusivity.

Another sign of a good shindig is when people hang around after the open bar has closed. Normally everyone nick offs the second they have to put their hand in their pocket, but the Creol Bar was still heaving until everyone got their marching orders.

The big outdoor patio right in front of the club entrance was also a party winner. On a nice night in a great city, pissheads always like to hang around outside, having a fag and talking bollocks.
