2011 is about to finish and if Calvin Ayre’s predictions are correct (hint: they usually are), the online gambling industry is in for another crazy, wild ride in 2012.
Regardless of what is happening with regulation, balkanization, the US, Asia, poker networks, public companies, private companies, mergers, acquisitions, payment processing, crappy economies and god knows what else, one thing is for sure…the online gambling industry throws the best fucking parties on earth.
Go ahead and relish a quick 2010 party refresher before we dive into what was hot, hotter and hottest for the online gambling industry in 2011…
10)iGB Espana Official Party, Laydown Club, Madrid
iGB Espana may be one of the smaller online gambling conferences of the year, but the organizers certainly chose one of the best venues in town for the official party, as in, the place was full of big white beds. Oh yes. You can figure out the rest.
9)Barcelona Affiliate Conference (BAC) day 2 party, Vetro Club, Barcelona
The BAC is known for its crazy parties and the day 2 official party most certainly lived up to its standards. The venue may have been a slight hike out of town, but there was something in the air that night because no one seems to remember a goddamn thing.
8 )iGaming SUPER Show St. Paddy’s Day Party, Opal Bar, London
This iGaming SUPER Show/St. Paddy’s Day/Lyceum Spring Social/Aideen + Roni + Caselli birthday party was one gigantic Guinness and cupcake fest complete with sexual iGaming SUPER Show stickers. You gotta watch it to believe it!
7)Bluff Magazine WSOP Party, Sapphire Club, Las Vegas
The WSOP is in Vegas and Vegas is known for its strip bars, so…why not have a WSOP party at a strip bar?! Brilliant! Everyone loves boobs.
6)OneWorks EiG Party, Old Fashion Club, Milan
OneWorks (formerly SunPlus) are known for throwing parties full of hot Asian chicks and lucky for us, these lovely ladies were flown in from Vegas to join us at Old Fashion Club. And it was fashion week. Models were everywhere. Hallelujah!
5)MiGS Pool Party, Hilton Pool, Malta
Sun. Sand. Bikinis. Models. Flowing booze. Music. Online gambling professionals. What else could you ever ask for?
4)Bodog Affiliate Social at London Affiliate Conference (LAC), Kanaloa, London
We all know its freezing in London during the LAC. To heat things up, Bodog Affiliate decided to throw a tiki themed social with pineapple drinks, coconut drinks, more drinks, limbo contests and a generous portion of scantily clad Bodog Girls.
3)ICE ICE Baby 2011, Opal Bar, London
Sports Betting Community (SBC) and iGaming SUPER Show did a great job bringing the online gambling community together during the ICE show for one big bash in honor of Vanilla Ice. Vanilla himself was not in attendance, but we had quite a few impersonators.
2)Fire & ICE 2011, Gilgamesh, London
Undeniably one of the best parties of the year, Michael Caselli and Jodie Thind put on a great night themed “Unmask your imagination”. We saw everything from topless girls to live animals to crazy costumes to midgets in crazy costumes. Sound familiar? Nah.
And for the best party of 2011…drum roll please…
