iPhone 4S price drop helps mobile gaming industry

Apple iPhone 4SIt was a little over ten days ago that the world went pippin’ mad as the new iPhone 4S was released by Apple. It’s latest bid for global smart phone domination not only gives you a phone that makes you a prime target for muggers. Oh no. It’s built in Siri technology means that you’ll always have someone to ask life’s burning questions and it will attempt to give some kind of answer. As Why Siri Why attains it can give some surprising results.

As well as being the must have phone on the market, Apple’s new release is more accessible than ever before and it’s something that those in the mobile gaming industry will be mildly aroused about. The device being priced at $199 by Apple for the 16GB model will see a plethora of the market that didn’t already have one race to the store to sign up for two-years of unencumbered Apple joy.

The costs of these new devices may be exorbitant but the long-term contracts mean you can pay the price back over an affordable two-year period. In the USA, it ends up costing you almost treble the amount of a sim-free device with AT+T being the cheapest at around $1760 over the contract period. Obviously that gets you 450 minutes, a cart full of texts and 2GB of data each month and it rolls over to the next month. It’s worth pointing out that in two years time we will be using mobile devices for more tasks than ever and the best part of $2,000 that you laid out will be a worthy investment.

In the centre of the iGaming industry, London, the prices are for once a lot less exorbitant. The best over in blighty sees you looking at buying the phone sim-free for £499 and paying £10-a-month for 250 minutes with unlimited data and texts on GiffGaff (run on o2). It works out at around £619 over a year and with the unlimited data, it really is a like something being sent down from heaven

This device has been a game-changer since its first incarnation and this device has changed the whole landscape of how smart phones look. It’s also shaping the future of the gaming industry at large with any device that Apple releases meaning that more traffic will be directed to various sites. Being priced at $199 just makes it all the more attractive and with the ultimate in smart phone power at your fingertips it’s no surprise.
