No more getting lost at the centre of the iGaming universe

GalileoEurope has launched its first satellite-navigation spacecrafts into orbit as the European Commission (EC) finally feels our pain. The two Galileo satellites were launched by a Russian rocket at around 11:30am UK time and the aim is to create a system more akin to the US GPS system.

If you’re living in the UK, you will know what it means to be so pissed off with your iPhone that you want to throw it on the floor. Granted, the guy with the BlackBerry didn’t have the opportunity to throw it at the floor in the first place and the bloke with the Android almost did. Standing in the middle of London trying your level best to try and find out where the secret parties with nothing but a postcode will be easier than ever and all you’ll have to worry about is where the night’s lucky lady is.

We can’t help but think half the reason it has been developed is to stop the stories of articulated lorries getting lodged down country lanes after following their sat navs. Country bumpkins beware though – it’s won’t be until 2015 that enough satellites have been launched for the system to be fully operational for Europe’s sat nav users.

The centre of the online gaming industry might well be in Asia. You can’t doubt the fact that the centre of the social side of the iGaming industry is London and anything that enhances that fact is only good for the industry. Lastly, according to the BBC article, “In theory, the data transmitted by Galileo should therefore be significantly better than its US counterpart.” Take that USA!

    Sooner or later there would be this super-satellite that can view the tiniest and farthest details of the Earth. If you have watched the Asian movie entitled Closer, you would wish you own such satellite.
