So... what are your names?
Well men, a very interesting article in the NY Post described how women are jumping into the sack faster and throwing caution to the wind with expectations about long-term commitments more than ever.
Translated, it means we’re winning the war gentlemen.
With more women putting out more often and more easily, and with more guys getting laid on the first date, it is effectively discounting the “price” of sex to a record low, according to social psychologists.
According to the NY Post article: more than 25 percent of young women report giving it up within the first week of dating- If you’re like me, you’re probably wondering why you always end up with the other 75 percent who would rather talk about how Daddy wasn’t there and how un-happy they are with their bodies before even considering giving it up within the first week.
“The price of sex is about how much one party has to do in order to entice the other into being sexual,” said Kathleen Vohs, of the University of Minnesota, who has authored several papers on “sexual economics.” “It might mean buying her a drink or an engagement ring. These behaviours vary in how costly they are to the man, and that is how we quantify the price of sex.” – NY Post
I think most men will agree that if all it costs is a drink to get some, we’re ready to sign up. These days, it seems like the young men have it way easier than some of us older cats. It’s not costing them anything at all!
These young guys don’t have to have any real game, any real rap, any real style to get the job done on the first night and it seems like they don’t need it. Oh and the extracurricular work that used to be necessary to seal the deal with a “hard-to-get” woman is now minimal or non-existent. According to the article in the NY Post, “sex is so cheap that researchers found a full 30 percent of young men’s sexual relationships involve no romance at all — no wooing, dating, goofy text messaging. Nothing. Just sex.”
That almost doesn’t seem fair. I mean, bravo for the young men these days, but I remember the days when it was much harder than that!
I remember the days when young boys and young men were seen as horn-balls who needed and wanted sex so much more than their female counterparts. Remember that bullshit? I actually believed it. Turns out it was all just a ploy to keep the price of sex at a premium.
Research indicates that because of things like gender equality, birth control and the Internet porn, the control women once held when it comes to sex has seriously been diminished.
But wait a minute, men love that cat and mouse game don’t we?
So what if the mouse just keeps letting the cat catch it without any effort, won’t the cat get bored and move on to something more challenging?
My guess is the cat would probably still kill the mouse out of instinct, but it probably wouldn’t enjoy it as much.
Good thing we’re not cats.
