illinois lotteryThe Illinois Lottery is making US lottery history by being the first to offer its subscribers a convenient, safe and secure way to receive their Lottery winnings, through use of a Visa prepaid card. The card now allows the convenience for players to receive their winnings more quickly on a Lottery Subscription Visa Prepaid Card.

“Our subscription players will no longer have to wait for checks, pay fees to cash checks, or walk around with large amounts of cash,” said Connie Laverty O’Connor, CEO of Northstar Lottery Group in the press release.

In addition, Laverty O’Connor said the Illinois Lottery is the first lottery in the United States to offer a prepaid card. “We are excited to offer Illinois Lottery players a green, secure winning payment system as our society becomes increasingly cash-free.”

The card not only adds convenience, but it ease of use is what will appeal to more generations, particularly the technologically savvy. The card allows subscribers to manage their card account online, renewing subscriptions, reviewing their transaction history and checking balances.

“This is the kind of innovation that will be available to players now that we have a private manager for the Illinois Lottery,” said Illinois Lottery Acting Superintendent Victor Golden in the release.
