Apple the world's number one brandReleased yesterday, Good Technology Device Activations Report latest quarterly data report found that more smartphones and tablets in general have been flooding the workplace. But Apple’s iOS has led the way, grabbing 80 percent of all device activations in the enterprise seen by Good during the second quarter. That marks an increase from just less than 70 percent in the first quarter.

According to the report, the iPad including the original and the iPad 2, picked up 27 percent of all workplace device activations in the second quarter.

The numbers recorded were higher than the number of activations for all Android smartphones (24 percent) over the same period.

“While Android may be gaining smartphone market share with consumers, our business users are clearly gravitating to the iPad and doing so in large numbers…This is especially true in the Financial Services sector, which drove nearly half of all Good’s iPad activations over the quarter.” John Herrema, Good’s senior vice president of corporate strategy, said in a statement regarding the report’s findings.

Android smartphones represented nearly 33 percent of all smartphone (non tablet) activations compared to iPhone’s 66 percent.

This was all in spite of Androids impressive overall market share growth.

Some of the other key findings from the Good report were that among the top 10 industry verticals, financial services continued to see the highest level of iPad activation accounting for nearly half of net iPad activations by industry (46%) more than tripling the amount of activation in any other industry and iOS tablets also represented over 95% of total tablet activations.
