Oprah says goodbye

oprahThere are celebrities and then there’s Oprah. There’s no question that Oprah is biggest and most powerful female celebrity ever, she’s so big, she has her own network.

I still have no doubt in my mind that Oprah was responsible for getting Obama elected.

But now the queen of the daytime talk show is saying goodbye. She’s been on tour selling out arenas and stadiums on her farewell tour and now it’s finally come down to one more show. After today, it’s all over.

All men in North America owe Oprah a special thank you. Think about it for a second.

For a quarter of a century Oprah has single handily done all of the emotional heavy lifting that otherwise would have fallen on so many of our shoulders. For years Oprah has done all of the listening and counselling that men could never do. For years Oprah has tackled the female issues that we as men hope we’ll never have to discuss, and because of Oprah, we never had to.

Gentlemen, whether you realize it or not, today we lose one of our greatest allies helping our relationships with the opposite sex. Oprah has solved more relationship problems that men within those relationships didn’t even know existed.

She’s been there when women think they’re too fat, or too skinny, she’s been there when lonely women need a friend, for twenty five years, Oprah has been there and helped in situations that we as men are lucky to never have knowledge about.

For many of Oprah’s followers, there isn’t a problem or issue they can’t find on their Oprah DVD box set.

Truly, millions of women and men around the world owe Oprah a thank-you. And to think, she did it all without ever interrupting a meaningful day of sports. Thank you Oprah.
