PlayStation network outage cost revealed; T-Mobile reveals new super-fast 4G Internet

PlayStation NetworkOne of the biggest security breaches in the history of the Internet has cost the company at its centre almost $200million. VentureBeat reports that the much publicized security breach of Sony’s PlayStation Network cost the Japanese firm around 14 billion Yen ($171m). It meant that 77 million users worldwide couldn’t access the service between April 20 and May 15. Their results won’t take a hit until the end of the current fiscal year on March 31,2012. Although there is already irreparable damage to the brand worldwide and it will take years to build this back up. No amount of free goody bags is going to hurry the process along any quicker.

rocket stickAnother company in the tech space, T-Mobile, has announced they’re boosting the speed of their wireless Internet in North America to astronomical levels. Their 4G networks will now run at 42mbps, which is more than the speed of many wired broadband services.
