heidiYou should know better than to trust a damn marsupial, an Octopus is way more reliable. The German celebrity opossum Heidi, correctly picked every single top award at the 2011 Oscars, except for one. But to many, it was the one that counts the most.

This is why you can’t trust a marsupial. Everyone and their octopus knew that “The Kings Speech” was going to win the academy award for best picture, it was damn near a lock. And what do we get from Heidi? “127 Hours”. I bet Watson could have guessed that one correctly.

Heidi did guess all of the other top awards correctly, but given her pick for best picture, I have no other choice but chalk up her correct picks as pure fluke. I’m sorry. But there was no way “127 Hours” though it was an intense and powerful film, could have ever beat out “The King’s Speech” which will likely go down as a classic.

If Paul the Octopus were still alive today, he would probably be swimming around waiving his tentacles in disgust.

Is gambling really that popular in Germany that their animals make picks? Seriously, Heidi has more friends on Facebook than most people combined with 320,000. She’s the toast of the Leipzig Zoo.
