Arsenal wins but at what cost; United bring bore draw back to Manchester

arsenal-injuries-man-utd-drawThe club currently sitting in the Premier League’s second spot may have kept up the pace with the leaders with last night’s victory but they will be wondering whether it was worth the cost.

Arsenal’s 1-0 victory over Stoke saw first Cesc Fabregas and then Theo Walcott withdrawn with injuries that will almost certainly rule them out of this weekend’s action and in the Englishman’s case even the Champions League second leg tie with Barcelona.

The North Londoners do still maintain a faint flicker of achieving an unprecedented quadruple this term and are quoted by the sports book at William Hill at 100/1, whilst they’re 7/4 second-favorites to win the title.

Last night’s other game involving an English side saw Man Utd draw disappointingly in the south of France with a stubborn Marseille side managed by ex-Chelsea midfielder Didier Deschamps.

It’s says everything about the game that the most anyone can remember is that some kids smuggled in a laser pen and shined it in the United’s players’ eyes whereas United’s fans went for the option of a flare instead.

As such, Graham Sharpe from Hills said, “We have lengthened United’s odds after a less than impressive display,’ as their odds of winning this year’s competition lengthened to 8/1 with the bookie.”
