spring-break-moves-to-vegasSpring Break and gambling together aren’t necessarily the first two things you’d think of when compiling a list of the year’s biggest parties but it looks as though a popular entertainment news and music network is looking to change the way the holiday is experienced.

After usually setting up shop in Mexico or Florida this year MTV is heading to Sin City for the latest edition of the popular Spring Break TV show.

It’s hoped that the weeklong event will give a jolt to the Nevadan city’s ailing economy that has been hit by a downturn in the casino industry in recent years, being surpassed by Macau as the world’s number one casino destination.

Gaming Analyst Steve Schwartz told Casino Gambling Web, “Spring break is the perfect opportunity for casinos in Las Vegas to bring in thousands of partying college students.

“With the World Series of Poker not until May, the spring break clientele will help bridge the gap before the influx of gamblers for the WSOP.”

The Palms Casino Resort near the Vegas strip itself will be the chosen venue for those looking to get their mug shot on the telly box but they should be warned that the event is strictly for over 21s due to the fact that you can gamble at the venue.

Over 20,000 people are expected in the city for the event and it might be time to consider making the trip next month to get your first taste of Sin City. Then you can always return for the WSOP later in the year to get married to some random chick in the process.
