Mobile phones are safer than was once thought according to a study published in a reputable North American medical journal.
It’s long been thought that using a mobile telephone too much would, like many other things, give you the “C” word. Research has found that this might not be the case after all.
The study, carried out by the Journal of the American Medical Association found that mobile phone calls do cause an area of the brain around the ear to increase in activity but it’s not believed to be specifically bad. In raising activity and in turn speeding up the metabolic rate of the brain, Mashable.com reports that it “could be the mental equivalent of going to the gym.”
By that reckoning, making an hour-long phone call to the boss over the other side of the world is akin to bench-pressing your own weight in gold.
This will be encouraging news for the already burgeoning mobile gambling industry that, far from needing it, may benefit from mobiles being given a boost in the health column.
At a time where most things fun are being castigated for having no health benefits it will be news in itself that, for now, mobiles are seemingly a lot safer than they were and won’t kill you.
It’s not that anyone primarily uses his or her phone for calling now anyways. Being a mobile porn hub and using it to put money on all manner of different wagers is probably a lot closer to the truth.
