Bodog Compound Launches Its Own Website

I have been designing homes all over the world for years now. It’s a hobby of sorts. One of the first that I designed and built is the infamous Bodog Compound. I use the word infamous because it rose to global infamy as this crazy party house when the Police in Costa Rica inaccurately translated some press releases and thought I was running illegal poker games in my home.

They sent in a swat team in full riot gear, a bus load of them, and there was not even one poker table in the house (I do have one now though), we were actually filming the closing segment of a Poker series I co produced with Fox Sports in March 2006. This raid hit the international news wires as I had just come out on the cover of Forbes annual Billionaires issue a week earlier.

In the global reports I was raided for hosting a raucous Poker party….I thought this sounded cooler than the real reason they raided my house so pretty much let that version stand unless directly asked. Was a real funny sight to see the cops all face planting into the glass walls I have in my home. Needless to say, since the cops brought the media with them, they were extremely embarrassed to find out that nothing was going on when they raided, not even anyone drinking or any music playing, I myself was sleeping.

The Bodog Compound used to be a must stop on any tour of Costa Rica by any online gaming executives when it was my primary residence prior to moving to Antigua in 2006 and it still is if I am around. Though I love my beach home in Jolly Harbour in Antigua also, I still love coming back to stay at the Bodog Compound in Costa Rica. I love it so much that I am thinking of starting a “Live Like Calvin” program that all the Bodog branded websites (BodogBrand.com for details) globally can use.

I have three other properties that I can use for this that each have their own unique charms and are located in different countries. I plan on putting up websites for them all eventually like the one I just put up at BodogCompound.com. The other three are a fully functioning dude ranch in Canada that will be up on BodogRanch.com, a maxed out party pad in a 280 year old building in Mayfair, London under BodogHouse.com and a luxurious beach house in Phuket Thailand named O Chateau that will eventually be up under one of the O Chateau domains I have.

I designed elements of all 4 of these locations so you can get some idea of my eclectic design tastes once all the sites are up. All the sites are still undergoing improvements and Bodog House in London will not be finished until sometime in 2013.

I am thinking we will run global contest for up to one week stays in one of these exotic “Bodog Lifestyle” locations that will include all sorts of Gambling, Drinking and Carrying on. It will be one program that all the Bodog branded websites can participate in. Anyway….check out the website BodogCompound.com and tell me what you think of the compound and my plans for it?
