Going beyond stupid

Im With StupidThere’s being stupid and then there’s crossing that stupid line into the land of pure unadulturated madness and insanity…Like that time you thought you could scale that barbwire fence, or the time you thought you could fight a bear, or the time you thought that sexy, scantily clad girl in Vegas wasn’t a hooker…What about that night you disappeared for three days with a gypsie, you know the night, it’s the same night you received the DAF Award.

If we’re honest with ourselves we may realize that at some point in our lives we’ve all been to that dark place. The crazy thing is, pun intended, some people live there.

Ever heard of Zaire Page? No? Good, it doesn’t matter. He’s just a murderer who opened fire in a hair salon in 2008 killing one and wounding four others. Pretty much, he’s just your average lunatic. Actually, he’s your above average lunatic. During his sentencing, the 22 year old Page stood up and told the judge Vincent Del Giudice, “With all due respect and from the bottom of my heart, suck my dick.”

Del Giudice responded with “I respectfully decline your offer. You are a danger to all civilized members of society” and then he handing down a sentence of a whopping 107 years in the slammer. So Mr. Page, with all due respect, your wish for fellatio will likely be granted over the course of the next 107 years, of course, you may have to deal with beard stubble and you’ll likely be on the other end of that exchange for the first 50 years or so.

Stupid kid. Do you remember when you were 22? Of course if you’re reading this, you probably weren’t blasting on hair salons like a coked out Rambo, but if you’re like me, you did some things you may not necessarily be the most proud of.

There are some of us who still find themselves crossing that line particularly after a night of gambling, drinking and carrying on. No, I’m not talking about a killing spree, but alcohol and reckless partying can make you do some pretty stupid things.

Here’s a tip for the next time you go beyond stupid. Make sure you remember, or get a friend to give you an account of what you did, write it down, laugh about it later, and then tell us about it so we can laugh with and at you! Everybody wins!
