mike ashleyWhen gambling at a casino there’s not a better feeling that when you’ve hit that hot streak. Because when you’re hot, you’re hot, you’re in the zone, you can’t miss, and everything keeps coming up “YOU”. But when you’re cold, it can be the most frustrating experience ever. Nothing seems to go your way and your stack just keeps getting smaller, and smaller and, well, you all know how it goes.

There’s at least one man out there that can take losing big at a casino with a smile, his name is Mike Ashley, and he happens to be the owner of the Newcastle United football club, or for those North Americanos out there, that’s soccer. No matter where you’re from though, you know a rough night at the casino when you see it. According to the Sun newspaper, earlier this month at Aspers casino, Mr. Ashley had himself one those cold streaks that makes you legendary.

Ashley was only in the casino for a few hours, but he managed to lose a reported £1million. Ashley didn’t cry, he didn’t bitch, he’s not one of those whales who needs to be let off the hook. He paid his tab and then he reportedly tipped an extra £700. That’s not only classy in our books, but that’s a man that understands the nature of beast. You win some you lose some, but you always have fun. When the love is gone, that’s when it’s time to call it.

Ashley is known for being a huge fan of gambling and legend has it that he once even settled a £200,000 debt with a game of ‘spoof’. Mike Ashley is my kind of dude, the world would be a much better place if there was more multi-million dollar guys like that, for the casinos anyway.

Wouldn’t it be fair if only really rich people had bad nights at the casino? Careful, that’s a trick question, don’t wish anyone to lose at a casino. Bad karma is like that annoying, high maintenance girlfriend who likes to cut herself. You need that like you need a hole in the head.
