New Year's EveIf you don’t already have your New Year’s Eve plans in order, you had better start, unless you’re willing to accept letting the last night of 2010 pass you by. It doesn’t matter if the color of your skin is yellow, black, white or orange, New Year’s is a time of celebration, partying and carrying on well past the break of dawn.

For those of us looking for the best places to spend the last night of 2010, there’s a number of cities around the globe that bring in the New Year in style.

One of the cities that might give you the most bang for your buck on New Year’s is Tokyo and that’s not just because of the full body massage parlors some of which end happily ever after… But they know how to party there too. They start partying and celebrating the New Year on Dec 29th and they don’t stop until January 4th! That’s a lot of bottles of champagne, in fact, that’s what they call a champagne diet. During the week long celebration the streets of Tokyo and all the restaurants and clubs are packed with people and the city is jumping with loads of fireworks, people dancing, singing and getting their Japanese groove on.

London
As the gaming Mecca of the world, London knows how to get down on New Year’s Eve. It’s no surprise, a city filled with industry professionals pops off on New Years. They certainly put on a show with breathtaking fireworks launched off the 135-meter London Eye, projecting a light show throughout the city. The fireworks can be seen from damn near everywhere, including rooftops and balconies all across London. The best views of the fireworks are from Westminster Bridge and the north embankment of the River Thames.

Sydney
If it’s fireworks you like, few beat the fireworks show that takes place in Sydney Australia. In all honesty, they kind of have to go over the top, given their geographical location, they’re always among the first to ring in the New Year, so they have to set the tone for the rest of the world.

Barcelona
How’s your flamenco? Ring in the New Year in Barcelona Spain for a party that you will never forget. If you thought Tokyo was getting it in, Barcelona takes to another level. Parties are all over the city and festivities last for as long as a week. At midnight, when the clock strikes twelve, you can join in the Spanish tradition of eating 12 grapes, one grape following each bell sound.

New York
Of course, what would New Year’s Eve be without the ball dropping in the Big Apple’s Times Square? It’s one of the most famous spots to be and you really should feel like all eyes of the world are on you if you’re standing in Times Square during New Year’s eve, because they are. But if you want to be in the center of universe on that night to watch the Waterford Crystal New Year’s Eve Ball drop from the flagpole atop One Times Square building, you better get there early, people start filling up the square at 3 pm.

Las Vegas
Viva Las Vegas! Few places top how Vegas gets down for New Year’s Eve. Vegas is a great place to party anytime during the year but on New Year’s Eve they step it up a nacho. The Las Vegas strip turns into party central. There’s a tremendous display of fireworks over the hotels, the best entertainers are performing in the showrooms and the most ridiculous parties are jumping off in the clubs. Just make sure you book your reservations early.

Wherever you spend New Year’s Eve, we wish you a happy one, filled with gambling, drinking and carrying on well into 2011!
