bodog-europe-ceo-predictionsAs the year comes to an end for the gambling industry it seems that predictions on what the next year may hold are coming at us as if snowballs right now. It’s only right that Bodog Europe CEO Patrik Selin has his say then.

On eGaming Review, an article penned by the only poker network CEO that plays live tournament poker, looks at what has gone on in the past year, and what we can expect to happen in the coming 12 months.

Selin identifies that it wasn’t a year for the fireworks, plenty of things not materializing, but he does identify three key trends that happened over the months that made up 2010. Firstly, industry fragmentation, in terms of different licensing regimes popping up across Europe, includes the much-maligned French model, pointing to the need for CEOs to select the correct markets very carefully.

Next up is the emergence of mobile growth for betting, and finally the slower growth in some other parts of the industry, namely poker – a matter of fact in a constantly changing industry like this one.

In terms of what to look out for over the coming year, the legal landscape is of course identified as a matter of utmost important. The economy being at the stage it’s currently at is also another important factor, as well as Selin’s admiration for hiring the best talent that the industry has to offer, to go forward.
