They love me, they really love me!

You could imagine that popping it and locking it like Jen Grey did all season long is sure to cause some damage. It turns out Grey was able to win the DWTS crown with a ruptured disc in her back. What a trooper!

Of course, most bookmakers had Grey favored to win the competition, and everyone should be relieved that justice prevailed and Bristol Palin didn’t win it. But in all honesty, how intense was the competition if Grey could win it with a ruptured disc in her back? I’m not taking anything away from her stellar performance, but I’m just saying. This is what happens when politics gets involved and Brandy and other talented dancers get voted off.

Grey was hospitalized the night before the finale of Dancing with the Stars and wasn’t sure if she was going to be able to perform. For what it’s worth, I believe she could have performed with a wooden leg with a kickstand and still finished ahead of Palin. You can check any fan forum, the fact is that due to the Dancing With the Stars 2010 lineup results, many began to question whether the voting was rigged, or whether it had been altered by one rabid fanbase. The further Bristol Palin advanced, the more anti-Palin fans threatened to stop watching, or actually did stop watching the show. But it didn’t affect ratings, in fact, ratings were better than ever, but perhaps for all the wrong reasons.

Now the show will be under pressure to try and duplicate the same type of interest in season 12. The problem is that interest stemmed from people wondering what the fuck was going with the show. What getting at is that this season may have ruined DWTS for the fan who loved the entertainment and skill aspect of the show. This season may cause the producers to give way to having another politically polarized figure on the show to have the same affect as Bristol Palin. Sarah Palin has already suggested that Christine O’Donnell join the show next year. Once Bristol Palin reached the finals, there were rumors of a new voting system for next year, in which the judges’ scores have more weight. O’Donnell might have a tough go repeating Palin’s success, if she’s as skilled as Palin, that’s for certain.

It remains to be seen if the Palin saga will actually boost the show or wreck it. Truth be told, it was wrecked for me.
