Sumos get rewarded with new phones

sumosThe Japanese Sumo Association are a weird one aren’t they? After a betting scandal which has embroiled the sport in recent times, and the sacking of some fairly prominent figures in the sport, one of them must have cooked up a fairly mean noodle soup to say sorry, and the reward – iPads all round. But they’re not a reward as such, it’s so the sausage fingered sumos can communicate easier with the outside world. Did someone forget to mention to the sumo lords that gambling apps are being developed for the iPad? Should just invest in one of those plastic phones with the huge keys, and a cement mixer to drive around in. Read more.

    It is tempting to imagine the iPad as an iPhone for the larger-sized. So perhaps Apple might make a special sumo edition that allows you to hold it to your ear and make phone calls.
