The super filly, Rachel Alexandra was hoping for a little more magic at the Saratoga racetrack, but it was not to be. Alexandra started out strong, but ran out of steam down the stretch of the mile and a quater race, a distance she had never run before. Bettors who took Persistently at 21-1 odds were in for a treat, Alexandra was passed down the stretch by Persistently and Garcia, and those who took Persistently walked away with $45 for a $2 bet.
