WSOP drives major traffic surge at online betting sites in July

WSOP-Online-Traffic-SurgeOnline betting sites saw major traffic gains during the month of July, according to the traffic cops at Comscore.com. More than 13.4M people visited a gambling site in July, an 11% increase over the previous month. PokerStars led the pack with 2.4M visitors (up 8%), followed by FullTilt with 2.3M (up 14%). Most of the credit goes to the action heating up at the WSOP, but we think the fact that it was hotter than blazes outside caused people to seek the comforts of their air-conditioned living rooms, and to tan by the light of their laptop screens.
