Google launching web-based phone service for GMail users

Google-Gmail-Web-PhoneGoogle has announced a new service that will allow Gmail users to make phone calls via the web to landline or mobile phones. The move will put Google in direct competition with Skype and major telecommunications companies. Given that many online betting companies want nothing to do with trad phone technology, this new option might provide these companies with an alternate method of communicating with their customers.
