Saipan’s House of Representatives approves gambling bill

Saipan-Gambling-BillTwo years ago, voters on the Northern Marianas island of Saipan rejected casino gambling, but that hasn’t stopped backers from pushing the issue. Now, Saipan’s House of Representatives has approved a bill to legalize casino gambling on the island. But before anyone pops any champagne corks, they should heed the words of Senator Pete Reyes, who has vowed to ‘kill’ the bill when it reaches the Senate floor. Geez… We’ve heard of diplomatic immunity, but can’t Sen. Reyes be charged with uttering threats of bodily harm or something? Read more.
